Zhejiang Energy eyeing Liuheng LNG terminal construction xinde marine news 2019-05-20 17:35

The state-owned Zhejiang Energy is reportedly laying down the groundwork to construct a liquefied natural gas import facility in east China’s Liuheng island.

Citing a company source, Platts said a cooperation framework deal has been signed between Zhejiang Energy and Shenzhen Energy and Liuheng management committee to develop the LNG import terminal.

The facility is planned to have the capacity to accommodate LNG capable of transporting up to 266,000 cubic meters of the chilled fuel, a reload facility and three 200,000-cbm storage tanks. The facility will be capable of handling 3 million tons of LNG per annum with a planned expansion to 6 mtpa during the second phase of development.

The import facility will be connected with Zhejiang Energy’s natural gas pipeline network.

Zhejiang Energy has already signed a deal with ExxonMobil for the supply of 1 million metric tons of LNG per year for a 20-year term.

Volumes will be delivered to the Wenzhou LNG terminal the company is currently developing.
