A Delegation of Panama Canal Authority Visited the COSCO xinde marine news 2019-04-30 14:09


On the afternoon of April 19, Administrator of the Panama Canal Authority Mr. Jorge L. Quijano and Panamanian Consul General in Shanghai Mr. Nicolas A. Saval Z. visited the COSCO SHIPPING headquarters. Chairman of COSCO SHIPPING Capt. Xu Lirong held talks with the guests.
 
Capt. Xu first extended a warm welcome to the delegation and reviewed the years of cooperation between the two sides. He said that the development of COSCO SHIPPING’s business in Panama is inseparable from the support of the Panama Canal Authority. Mr. Quijano expressed his gratitude to COSCO SHIPPING for its support to the Panama Canal Authority and introduced its latest development and operation. The two sides both agreed that they should further increase communication and strengthen cooperation in order to make positive contributions to promoting world trade development and China-Panama economic and trade cooperation.
 
The Panama Canal is a waterway of great significance for shipping in the world. As a key client of the Canal, COSCO SHIPPING has been maintaining sound cooperative relations with the Panama Canal Authority. It now provides container, bulk cargo and oil product shipping services in Panama, and sees the country as a container transit hub that links South America, North America, and the Caribbean Region.  
 
Executive Vice President of COSCO SHIPPING Mr. Wang Haimin and relevant heads of the Strategy & Corporate Management Division, Operating Management Division, Public Relations Division, and COSCO SHIPPING Ports also attended the meeting.
