A delegation headed by Chairman and Party Secretary of COSCO SHIPPING Capt. Xu Lirong visited Yangzhou and held talks with Secretary of Yangzhou Municipal Party Committee Mr. Xie Zhengyi and the related government leaders of Yangzhou city and Jiangdu District.

 

During the meeting, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of COSCO SHIPPING Mr. Sun Yunfei and Vice Mayor of Yangzhou Mr. Fang Guilin signed a strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of the two sides, respectively. According to the agreement, the two parties will further shore up the efforts of COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry in Yangzhou to grow bigger and stronger, facilitate the integration of informationization and industrialization, boost technological innovation, and carry out active cooperation in the areas of shipping, shipping finance, logistics and shipping-related service industries.

 

The two sides also witnessed the signing of an agreement on building “8+2” 210,000 DWT bulk carriers between COSCO SHIPPING Bulk and COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry.

 

Director and Deputy Party Secretary of COSCO SHIPPING Mr. Sun Jiakang, External Director of COSCO SHIPPING Mr. Liu Zhangmin, Mr. Chung Shui Ming and Mr. Xu Donggen, as well as executives of COSCO SHIPPING Bulk, COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry, COSCO SHIPPING Development and the related divisions of the group were also present at the meeting.

 

Capt. Xu Lirong also attended the opening ceremony of the “Flowery March International Economy & Trade Tourist Festival of Yangzhou China”. He addressed the event as a representative of entrepreneurs and witnessed the signing of agreements on a number of major projects based in Yangzhou.
