Head of Transportation Department of CMG reviews CMES xinde marine news 2019-04-01 17:10


On 25 March, 2019, Mr Song Dexing, Head of Transportation and Logistics Department and the Beijing Headquarters of China Merchants Group visited China Merchants Shipping for field study. Mr Xie Chunlin, Chairman of CMES, Mr Wang Yongxin, President of CMES, and Mr Liu Weiwu, Vice President of CMES participated in the investigation.
 
Mr Xie welcomed Mr Song and his fellow for their visit, and expressed his gratitude to the transportation and logistics department for their guidance and support on the operation of CMES. Mr Xie affirmed the central goal of maximizing the interests of the Group. With full commitment and initiation of the establishment of the “divergent traffic, diverse logistics” system, the aim is to continuously promote the integrated competitiveness and foster collaborations to promote the development for high quality in the Group.
 
Mr Song stated the background and objectives for this special research visit. Not only did he fully approve the efforts and achievements of CMES’ established collaborations, he also put forward expectations and four requirements for upcoming work. First, jointly build a shared platform for collaborative resources to allow comprehensive exchange of the quality resources of each sector. Second, launch research and explore initiatives to achieve a “greater transportation and logistics” scale to shape agendas from a top-down approach. Third, select and promote key projects of collaborative work. Fourth, establish corresponding work integration mechanism to allow mutual advancement.
 
Mr Wang developed a special report titled as A Collaborated Promotion in the Establishment and Development of a “Greater Transportation and Logistic” Scale to be Customer-oriented and Improve Quality and Efficiency. The report introduced guiding strategies, objectives and principles for the establishment and development of a “greater transportation and logistics” scale. Key areas for implementation were also indicated in the report, combining various policies including transportation demand of important strategic materials for the country, the support required for the construction of Dalian Northeast Asia International Shipping Center, the “Belt and Road” Initiative, development of Yangtze River Economic Belt and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-and-Macao Greater Bay Area, intermodal transportation and smart transportation, etc.
 
Mr Yang Yuntao, Deputy Head of Transportation and Logistics Department, Mr Xiong Wei, Director of Business Development, and other leaders of relevant business departments also participated the research visit. Mr Zhang Baoliang, Mr Yan Wushan, Mr Ding Lei, Vice Presidents of CMES, together with relevant officers from the Corporate Management Department and related subsidiaries attended the meeting to exchange opinions.
