China's Bohai-rim ports saw coal handling set a new record in 2017, reaching 677 million tonnes, rising 13% from the preceding year, data showed.
The increase of coal handing at Bohai-rim ports was attributed to steady growth of macro economy, rising coal demand for generating electricity, quickening release of advanced coal capacity and improving transporting efficiency of major coal lines such as Daqin line, Shuohuang line etc.
Coal handling volume at Qinhuangdao port climbed 35% to 215 million tonnes in 2017; that at Huanghua port at 193 million tonnes, up 11% year on year.
Besides, Tianjin port's coal handling volume decreased by 27.6% to 79.8 million tonnes in the year.
