1. On December 25, the 21,000-teu large-scale container ship H1416 undocked successfully. It is the world's largest container ship built by Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding and designed by MARIC.
2. Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) will transfer most of their shipbuilding business to China. Unidentified sources from Japan reported that KHI plans to increase the capacity of Dalian Shipyard in Liaoning Province China by 50%, Dalian shipyard mainly build large vessels including oil tankers and bulk carriers. About 70% of commercial ships of KHI will be built in China.
3. Shanghai International Shipping Institute released the fourth quarter of 2017 CSPI report, China's shipping industry has shown a strong recovery.
4. On December 22, the first comprehensive energy-saving demonstration ship in the Yangtze River Basin, Changhang Group’s 8303 dual-fuel powered vessel, arrived at Wuhan International Container Terminal in Yangluo Port, marking a new chapter for China’s inland river environmental shipping.
