1. Foreign media forecasts COSCO Shipping will become the world's largest container shipping company.
According to a quarterly MarPoll online survey, 71% of respondents think COSCO Shipping will become the world's largest container shipping company in the next decade. A reader commented that COSCO Shipping could easily become the number one shipping company in the world by its virtue "High Quality and Inexpensive" strategy. Alphaliner's report in late November showed that for the first time in the third quarter COSCO Shipping became the largest container shipping company due to the poor performance of its competitor Maersk Line.
2. According to Lloyd's List, Clarkson data show that in the first 11 months of this year, a total of 4.7 billion U.S. dollars was invested in the new container ship market, with the majority of new ships of 15,000 TEU and above.
3. COSCO SHIPPING, officially announces the 2018 Day Two Product, including confirmed port rotation for each service loop.
OCEAN Alliance deploys 331 vessels and the total capacity up to 3.35 million TEU in 2017. The Day Two network intends to deploy around 340 container vessels with an estimated total carrying capacity of 3.6 million TEUs to provide one of the most comprehensive service coverage in the market on the following trade lanes.
4. Up to 6:00 AM on December 18, the comprehensive oil throughput of China Qingdao Port in 2017 exceeded 100 million tons. Qingdao SHI HUA Crude Oil Terminal Company became the first "100 million tons oil company" in coastal ports.
5. China's first cruise ship started construction in Zhoushan, Zhejiang.
Tsuneishi Group (Zhoushan) Shipbuilding announced a few days ago that it is striving to build China's first cruise ship by the end of 2021 and the basic design work has begun.
