China's Biggest River and Sea Intermodal Ro-ro Ship Started its Maiden Voyage
 
Xinde Marine News was informed that on the morning of November 23, the Kingfour Marine(KFM) "Shi Yang" wheel with 2,100 parking spaces, jointly invested by Dalian Port and its partners, started its maiden voyage at the dock of Dalian Port Carriage. The first maiden voyage contained more than 1,300 BMW Brilliance, FAW-Audi, FAW-Volkswagen, Chery and other brand cars, heading for Shanghai.


 
Founded in 2011, the Kingfour Marine Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of CDC International Logistics Co., Ltd. It is the "New Member" of China's ro-ro shipping industry jointly established by Dalian Port, Changjiu Logistics and Chery Automobile. So far, KFM has owned 5 vessels of various types including the "Shi Yang" wheel. The business scale and benefits have been steadily rising with broad recognition


 
"Shi Yang" wheel is 141.2-meter in length, 24.4-meter in width, design draft 6 meters, service speed of 16 knots, a total of 9-deck loading deck, with a total loading area of about 18,000 square meters, the standard loading number of about 2100 vehicles. 
 
"Shi Yang" wheel is the only river and sea intermodal ro-ro ship among the same type ships in China, which can safely sail the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge and reach the middle Yangtze River port. At present, it is the largest river and sea intermodal ro-ro ship in China with high safety, low fuel consumption, good adaptability, operational flexibility, comfort and so on.
