Spot rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday dropped 1.7 per cent to US$979 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Asia-Mediterranean trade declined 1.7 per cent to $980 per TEU, London's Loadstar reported.
Asia to US west coast decreased two per cent to $1,895 per FEU while those to the east coast were off 2.5 per cent to $3,040 per FEU.
