1.Chinese shipyard Taizhou Kouan Shipbuilding has signed newbuilding contracts with Shanghai Ganglu Shipping to construct two 56,000-dwt dry bulk carriers.And the bulk carriers will be classified by China Classification Society (CCS).
 
2.Suez Canal Extends Toll Cuts for Crude Carriers.The authority decided that circular no.1/2018 concerning crude oil tankers coming from ports of the US Gulf,Caribbean area and Latin America and heading to Asian ports,will remain in force from January 1 to December 31,2019,after certain amendments.
 
3.China’s Hunan Xiangchuan Shipbuilding Industry has set up a new shipyard and repair base in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province to expand its footprint locally.
 
4.Ahead of expected trade talks next month, China has made efforts to end the trade dispute with the US, yet the country is also unsure it has done enough.
 
5.Chinese-flagged general cargo vessel YuSheng 366 sank following a collision with Post Panamax containership CMA CGM Norma, Chinese media reported.As informed, the ship’s crew has been rescued and there are no signs of maritime pollution at the moment.
 
6.China's iron ore futures closed higher on Wednesday.The most active contract for May 2019 delivery finished the day session up 1.3 percent to 492.5 yuan per ton. 
 
7.Two new 14,000 TEU full-container vessels built for Taiwanese ocean shipping company Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation  by Imabari Shipbuilding  Japan, were named as YM Wonderland and YM Wisdom respectively.
 
8.Southwestern China's Chongqing municipality has approved four new wind power projects with a total capacity of 325 MW on December 20, a move to promote clean energy while boosting regional development, sources reported, citing the municipal reform and development commission.
