China's 2018 import expected to reach all-time high xinde marine news 2018-12-24 01:09

China’s import is expected to reach an all-time high over 2 trillion U.S. dollars in value in 2018, said a national commercial work conference held in Beijing on Saturday.

According to the conference which was sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, China’s tariff cuts on imported goods from 9.8 percent to 7.5 percent on the average this year, covering drugs, automobiles and daily necessities, were one of the major factors that contributed to the increase in imports.

In addition, the China International Import Expo which was held in November in Shanghai also helped boost China’s import.

Statistics show that China’s import from January to November went up 14.6 percent from the same time period of last year, with a contribution rate of 60.8 percent in the growth of the country’s foreign trade.

Import has become a key driving force for this year’s increase in foreign trade, said the conference.
