Spot rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday dropped 2.4 per cent to US$753 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Asia-Mediterranean trade was also down 1.3 per cent to $757 per TEU, London's Loadstar reported.
Asia to US west coast declined 1.8 per cent to $2,529 per FEU, while those to the east coast rose 3.5 per cent to $3,739 per FEU.
