1.Several marine incidents in China have been reported involving merchant vessels colliding with fishery farms,mostly off the coast of Lanshan and Rizhao areas where mussel and oyster cultivation form the bulk of aquaculture industry. Huatai Insurance Agency handled overall 71 fishery farm entry claims in China through 2017.
 
2.Taicang Port recently leaped to 31st in the "One Hundred Ports 2018" list of Lloyd's List,a world-renowned shipping journal based in the United Kingdom,up four rankings on last year and ranking 12th among domestic container ports, local media reported.
 
3.Carnival Corporation & plc,has announced that its cruise joint venture with China State Shipbuilding Corporation will launch this week under the name CSSC Carnival Cruise Shipping Limited.The new China-based cruise company plans to operate its own fleet to serve Chinese cruise guests by the end of 2019.
 
4.Swire Group’s shipping arm establishes presence in Shanghai where it was founded 147 years ago Singapore,Shanghai--The China Navigation Company(CNCo) opened its China headquarters officially in Shanghai on 05 November 2018,marking a significant return to its birthplace 147 years ago,and a significant milestone in its history.
 
5.Statistics from the China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry show that, “between January and May 2018, shipbuilding enterprises had revenues from their main business totalling RMB78.8 billion, a decrease of 4.8% compared with the same period the year before.
 
6.China's iron ore futures ended lower on Wednesday.The most active contract for January,2019 delivery finished the day session 0.58% lower at 511 yuan per ton. 
 
7.PetroChina Changqing Oilfield Company (PCOC)'s daily gas output exceeds 100 million cubic meters.
 
8.A brand new global initiative from international maritime charity Sailors’Society, Wellness at Sea Week, from 4 - 10 Nov,will highlight the issue of crew wellness.
