OceanGuard® Ballast Water Management System, an independently developed product of Headway Technology Co., Ltd. has just obtained the U.S. Coast Guard Type Approval. With the obtaining of USCG type approval and certificates from other 15 major classification societies and flags, OceanGuard® BWMS can be used at basically every port of the world.

OceanGuard® BWMS passed all high-standard tests of USCG, without any repeat, under supervision of DNV-GL as independent lab. It successfully conquered the challenges of low temperature, low salinity and various testing intervals, without increasing power consumption or adding extra components. It won the praise of experts from lab, because of the excellent performance in water of high turbidity, high concentration of sand, mud and organisms.

Looking back to the progress of obtaining the USCG TAC, instead of reiterating the excellence and stable performance of the system, the very first thing that come from Headway’s project leader was “gratitude”, especially to those customers who have been supporting and trusting Headway’s product during the progress of tests and evaluation. In the past 2 years, OceanGuard® BWMS has obtained more than 500 contracts with customers who have been benefit from its reliable performance along with new customers. What impressed Headway most was a American shipping company who has purchased several ships that was fitted with OceanGuard®BWMS, with a period of operation, shipowner was satisfied with Headway’s crew training and technical support provided by the “One-Stop” Service network. Therefore, the shipowner has specifically required OceanGuard® BWMS for their coming retrofitting jobs. USCG type approval will fortify Headway’s strength and relieve the concerns of customer who plans to use Headway OceanGuard® BWMS.
