On November 6th, DP World, HUTCHSIONPORTS,PSA, SIPG,CMA-CGM,COSCO Shipping Lines,
Evergreen,OOCL,YangMing and CargoSmart signed the Declaration of INTENT to form Global Shipping Business Network, the 1st blockchain consortium in shipping industry. 
 
Leading port groups and ocean carriers gathered and indicated their intension to form an open digital blockchain consortium of shipping industry based on distributed ledger technology. The new platform will establish a digital baseline in the shipping industry to enable digital transformation and collaborative innovation in the industry.
 
The first application is scheduled to be available in December 2018, which will allow shippers to digitize and organize their dangerous goods documents and automatically connect with relevant parties to streamline the approval process and reduce fraud declaration risk of dangerous cargo.
