David Cabral joins Peak Re as COO xinde marine news 2018-10-10 13:57


Hong Kong-based global reinsurer, Peak Re has unveiled David Cabral as the company’s new chief operating officer.
 
Mr Cabral as more than 35 years global (re)insurance experience. He founded a (re)insurance advisory firm with an extensive range of advisory services from strategy to new product development for (re)insurance companies and insurtech start-ups.
 
Mr. Cabral was a founding member of a start-up reinsurance company where he created and managed multiple underwriting functions and supported the company’s operational activities. His additional experience in Bermuda and U.S. includes the management of claims, risk management, underwriting, operations and technology transformation. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of London. He is also a member of the Pan-Asia Risk & Insurance Management Association (PARIMA).
 
Reporting to the CEO, Mr. Cabral is a C-suite member with leadership responsibilities in business processes integration, achieving operational efficiency and driving Peak Re’s technology strategy development, all crucial elements in supporting the company’s continuous growth.
 
Mr. Franz Josef Hahn, Chief Executive Officer of Peak Re, said: “David is an exceptional reinsurance industry leader, and I am very excited to welcome him to Peak Re.
