Ship exports boom in Fujian xinde marine news 2018-09-05 10:44

The exports of different varieties of ships in Fujian reached 167 from Jan to July, up 50 percent compared to the same period last year, statistics from the Xiamen Customs show.

The figure for the month of July alone stood at 30, an uptick of 100 percent year-on-year.

The province’s meteoric rise in ship exports can be largely attributed to the recovering global shipping market, experts say.

Statistics show that the ASEAN bloc is the largest importer for Fujian ships. From Jan to July, the bloc imported 32 ships manufactured by Fujian shipbuilders, up 45.5 percent year-on –year.

Over the same period, the exports to the European Union, Hong Kong and Panama stood at 22, 21 and 38 respectively.
