Liberian Registry Awarded QUALSHIP 21 Status By United States Coast Guard LISCR 2023-06-27 11:12

The Liberian Registry has been awarded QUALSHIP 21 (QS21) status for 2023-2024 by the United States Coast Guard’s (USCG). QS21 can benefit both the vessels and the environment, by promoting high standards of safety and environmental stewardship. To qualify for QS21, flag administrations must have a three-year Port State Control (PSC) detention ratio of less than 1.00% and be credited with 10+ PSC exams per year for the last three years. The prestigious QS21 program recognizes vessels and flag States which have successfully met specified safety and quality requirements and regulations when calling at ports in the United States.

Alfonso Castillero, Chief Executive Officer of the Liberian International Ship and Corporate Registry (LISCR), commented "We feel privileged to have once again received QUALSHIP 21 recognition, a crucial parameter used by the maritime sector to assess quality and performance. We work diligently to recruit skilled personnel and implement efficient processes, such as our Dynamic Prevention Program, to maintain a secure and compliant fleet. In addition to our White List status in the Paris and Tokyo MOUs, our inclusion in QUALSHIP 21 further demonstrates our dedication to achieving excellence. We thank the USCG for recognizing our efforts and for working with us in our attempts to ensure fleet compliance."
