CMA CGM vessel installs first ever bow windshield Port Technology 2023-02-20 13:37

CMA CGM has for the first time installed a bow windshield, initially developed by Japan’s Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL), on a flagship in its fleet.

The 16,000 TEU, CMA CGM MARCO POLO was captured passing through the Port of New York and New Jersey with a curved navy blue metal shield attached on to the prow of the vessel.

These windshields were first developed by MOL.

Ocean Network Express (ONE), MOL’s container line, has installed these windshields on two of its ships in the last year, the ONE Trust and ONE Tradition.

Additionally, MOL completed its hard sail wind power propulsion system in February 2022, and it was later installed on a bulk carrier for the first time.
