China issued Measures for Vessels' Energy Consumption Data Management and Carbon Intensity Xinde Marine News Vivian Xu 2022-11-29 10:46

On November 22, the Maritime Safety Administration of the People's Republic of China issued the Measures for the Management of Energy Consumption Data and carbon Intensity of Vessels. The measures apply to vessels of Chinese nationality with a gross tonnage of 400 tons or more and vessels of foreign nationality entering or leaving Chinese ports. These Measures shall come into force as of December 22, 2022 and shall be valid for five years.
 
Vessels' carbon intensity management refers to the relevant management work carried out to control the greenhouse gas emission intensity of vessels, including energy efficiency management and carbon intensity management.
