Recently, a growing number of countries have eased entry and exit restrictions in a controlled way, such as Singapore, South Korea and China, and even no longer require nucleic acid testing at entry -- which is great news for seafarers.

South Korea: The requirement for nucleic acid testing before entry will be canceled from September 3.
According to the Yonhap News Agency reported on August 31, all people entering South Korea will no longer need to submit a negative nucleic acid test (PCR) within 48 hours or a rapid antigen test (RAT) within 24 hours from September 3.

General Administration of Customs of the Peoples Republic of China: The requirement of nucleic acid test information, previous infections and vaccination date for entry and exit personnel will be abolished.
The General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China will launch the ninth version of the People's Republic of China Exit/Entry Health Declaration Form on August 31, which will no longer require nucleic acid testing information for entry and exit.

India: Chennai Port offers shore leave to Indian seafarers who have received two vaccinations.

AMSA: Proposed to facilitate seafarers' shore leave for ships visiting Australian ports.
