The 3rd Shanghai International LNG Shipping Forum was held on November 6. The forum focused on LNG shipping and green finance, trade, technology and other topics.
Liu Peng, deputy director of the water transport bureau of the Ministry of Transport, pointed out in his speech that LNG shipping is related to the safety of energy transportation and the people's warm winter, which is of great significance to the safety of energy supply.
Liu Peng said that in recent years, MOT has taken effective measures to strengthen the construction of LNG unloading terminals and fleets, effectively coordinate epidemic prevention and control, and promote the safety, stability and smooth transportation of LNG shipping.
"This year, China is expected to become the world's largest LNG importer, and shipping is the main mode of transportation for LNG import, which is becoming increasingly important," Liu Peng said.
Under the new situation, Liu Peng put forward three suggestions on the sustainable development of LNG shipping and promoting the stability and smoothness of international logistics supply chain.
First of all, it is necessary to coordinate development and safety, establish a safety production double prevention mechanism, and systematically strengthen the prevention of major safety risks. At present, it is necessary to do a solid job in ensuring the safety and smoothness of LNG maritime transportation to ensure the safety and smoothness of energy transportation.
Secondly, it is necessary to strengthen the independent design and construction capacity of large LNG ships and enhance the technology R & D and application of energy conservation and emission reduction. Support and promote the industry to deepen the application of LNG powered ships, establish and improve the LNG ship bunkering and supply system, strengthen scientific and technological innovation, and develop green ships and green shipping.
Finally, we should pay attention to the coordination and innovation of LNG transportation. LNG shipping companies should deepen cooperation with LNG importers to promote mutual benefit and risk sharing. Actively plan to promote sea-to-river and coastal peak shaving transportation, orderly promote LNG tank transportation and multimodal transportation, and promote the improvement of the LNG transportation system.
