DSIC delivers the second new generation VLCC to CMES xinde marine news Sarah Yu 2021-10-26 17:00


On October 25, Dalian Shipbuilding Industry, a subsidiary of CSSC, christened and delivered MV "New Ambition", the 307,000DWT VLCC built for China Merchants Energy Shipping.
 
This series of ships meets HCSR requirements, meets the latest nitrogen oxide and sulfur oxide emission requirements, and EEDI Phase Ⅲ.

"New Ambition" has a total length of 333 meters and a total painted area of ​​more than 540,000 square meters. The mould is 60 meters wide and 30 meters deep, and it is classified into ABS.
 
"New Ambition" is a new generation of energy-saving and environmentally-friendly VLCC, which conform to the latest ship construction regulations. Compared with non-energy-saving and environmentally-friendly ships, the fuel consumption is reduced by about 25%, and environmental-related indicators have also been significantly improved.
 
Up to now, CMES has a total of 52 VLCCs in operation (51 of which are 100% owned), and 4 ships have been ordered.
