Global ship management company V.Group has been awarded a contract by Shanghai-based Boqiang Heavy Industry Group to project manage a newbuild wind turbine installation vessel (WTIV).
Under the contract, SeaTec, V.Group's provider of technical services, will provide project management, plan approval and site supervision services. The next generation vessel is being built by CIMC Raffles and will be delivered in the first quarter of 2023.

The next generation model 3060-WTIV series vessel works in water depths of 65m and is designed to work in the North Sea and other European areas. It will be equipped with a fully electrical driven giant crane supplied by Husiman with a lifting capacity of 2200 tonnes and comes with a rack and pinion jacking system and DP2 system. It will be capable of installing turbines of up to 20MW.
