Maersk adjusts terminal operating fees and raises the charging standards for reefer containers
Maersk issued an announcement a few days ago announcing that it will adjust the Terminal Handling Service-Origin (OHC)/Destination (DHC) -MANILA, PH to/from World for all containers.
The charges are increased by US$178 per 20-foot dry container, US$229 per 40-foot dry container, US$260 per 45-foot high container, and US$214/275 per 20-foot/40-foot reefer container.
The new charges will take effect on September 15.
Maersk emphasized that the collection of the surcharge is in line with the rate adjustment at Manila ports from the Philippine Port Authority.
At the same time, in view of the current market conditions, Maersk will also increase the export rates of all reefer containers from Vietnam.
According to the new freight rates standard, the rates from Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam to Montreal, Canada, and Charleston/Miami/ Newwark in the United States is up to $14,000 per 40-foot reefer container.
The effective date of the new charges is September 1.
MSC charges a congestion surcharge
MSC stated that it will charge congestion surcharge (CGS) for all shipments from South China Ports, Hong Kong origins to USA and Canada destinations.
Specific fees include: 800 US dollars per 20-foot container, 1,000 US dollars per 40-foot container, 1125 US dollars per 40-foot high container, and 1266 US dollars per 45-foot container.
The fee applies to all container types, and the effective date is September 1 (the date of unloading at the port of destination).
CMA CGM charges port congestion surcharge
CMA CGM stated that due to a combination of factors, the operational costs have significantly increased in Liverpool port over the past weeks.
In this respect, CMA CGM advises its customers that a Port Congestion Surcharge (PCS) of USD 150 per TEU (all units) will be introduced for all containers arriving in Liverpool (GBLIV), United Kingdom.
The effective date is August 15. (loading date)
ZIM charges a congestion surcharge
ZIM said that due to the ongoing congestion which impacting its eCommerce Lines to LA (WBCT) and Tacoma (Husky), a Congestion Surcharge of US$1,500 per container will be charged for all export cargo from Asia to Los Angeles and Tacoma applicable to terminals of ZEX, ZX2 and ZX3 lines.
The effective date of the charge is August 15.
