From January to May, the international shipping market continued to pick up, the freight index continued to rise, and new ship orders were released one after another. Due to the influence of raw material prices, exchange rate changes and other factors, the revenue increased and profit decline of shipbuilding enterprises.
 
1. Year-on-year growth of the country's three major shipbuilding indicators
 
From January to May, 16.864 million dwt of shipbuilding were completed nationwide, a year-on-year increase of 26.6%. Accepted orders for new ships of 32.738 million dwt, an increase of 182.6% year-on-year. At the end of May, hand-held ship orders were 85.004 million dwt, a year-on-year increase of 6.4%, and a 19.5% increase from the end of 2020.
 
From January to May, the country completed 16.055 million dwt of export ships, a year-on-year increase of 30.4%; Undertook orders for export ships of 29.301 million dwt, a year-on-year increase of 174.9%; At the end of May, hand-held export ship orders of 75.824 million dwt, a year-on-year increase of 2.7%. Exported ships accounted for 95.2%, 89.5% and 89.2% of the nation's shipbuilding completions, new orders, and hand-held orders, respectively.



2. Key monitoring indicators of enterprises
 
1) Year on year growth of three shipbuilding indexes of shipbuilding enterprises
 
From January to may, 16.68 million dwt were completed by 50 key monitoring shipbuilding enterprises, a year-on-year increase of 26.7%. The new ship orders were 31.97 million dwt, up 179.9% year on year. At the end of May, orders for hand-held ships were 82.92 million dwt, up 7.2% year on year.
 
From January to may, 50 key monitored shipbuilding enterprises completed 16.05 million dwt export ships, a year-on-year increase of 31.7%; To undertake export ship orders of 28.86 million dwt, a year-on-year increase of 171.8%; At the end of May, orders for hand-held export ships were 74.03 million dwt, up 2.8% year on year. Export ships accounted for 96.2%, 90.3% and 89.3% of the completed, new orders and hand-held orders respectively.
 
2) Year on year growth of ship repair enterprises
 
From January to may, 1313 ships were repaired by 15 key monitoring ship repair enterprises, with a year-on-year increase of 6.8%.
 
3) Marine diesel engine manufacturers maintain growth
 
From January to may, 7 key monitoring marine diesel engine manufacturing enterprises produced 8313 sets of various types of medium and low speed diesel engines, with a year-on-year growth of 43.4%, and completed power of 5.225 million KW, with a year-on-year growth of 31.7%.
 
4) The total industrial output value of shipbuilding enterprises increased year-on-year
 
From January to May, the total industrial output value of 75 key monitoring shipbuilding enterprises reached 143.9 billion yuan, up 18.9% year on year. Among them, the shipbuilding output value was 63.8 billion yuan, up 25.1% year on year; The output value of ship supporting facilities was 13.2 billion yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 63%; The output value of ship repair was 6 billion yuan, up 13.2% year on year.
 
5) The revenue of shipping companies increased, but profits decreased
 
From January to may, the main business income of 75 key monitoring ship enterprises was 93.2 billion yuan, up 13.7% year on year; The total profit was 230 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 17.9%.
 
3、 The international market share of the three major shipbuilding indicators remained stable
 
From January to may, China's shipbuilding completion, new orders and handheld orders accounted for 43.9%, 53.9% and 46.8% of the world market share respectively.
