Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding delivered its 500th ship xinde marine news Sarah Yu 2021-04-16 11:12

On April 15, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, signed and delivered the 210,000 dwt Newcastlemax bulk carrier "DE MAY" for Foremost Group.
 
"DE MAY" is a Newcastlemax bulk carrier built for Foremost Group, developed, designed and built by Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding.
 
Its length is 299.88 meters, width is 50 meters, depth is 25.2 meters, design draft is 16.1 meters, meet the latest maritime standards and various environmental protection requirements.
Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding has a long history with Foremost Group. Since the establishment of cooperation in 2002, the two sides have signed contracts for the construction of 24 new ships.
 
Delivery of "DE MAY" is the 500th ship built by Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding since it delivered the first commercial ship on June 22, 2003.
 
Up to now, Waigaoqiao has completed a total of 89.68 million DWT, with an average annual output of 27.8 ships / 4.982 million DWT, ranking first in China and among the top ranks in the world. Waigaoqiao has become a veritable flag bearer and benchmark in the field of civil ship construction in China.
