On October 26, DSIC held a naming ceremony for the 115,000 dwt crude /product tanker No. 44 built for Maersk Tankers. Ms. Lily Wang named the new ship "MAERSK SARA".

The ship is 250 metres in length, 44 metres wide and 21.9 metres deep, with a deadweight tonnage of 115,000 tonnes, a structural draft of 15.35 metres and a design speed of 14.5 knots. It is registered under Singapore flag, and is classified into LR. In order to meet the requirements of energy-saving design, energy-saving guide wheels are installed on the stern tube of the ship propeller in front of the ship, and the light turning margin of the propeller is not less than 3%.

The 115,000 dwt crude /product tankers series is an energy-saving and environment-friendly crude /product tanker specially designed for Maersk by DSIC. The ship is a double-bottom and double-shell refined oil tanker, which adopts the structure form of trough bulkhead and deck overturning in hull structure. In the aspect of cargo oil system, the independent pump tank structure is cancelled and the independent deep well pump system of cargo oil tank is adopted. This structure and system construction form are the first time for DSIC in recent years.
