Global shipping line, Safmarine, names Cindy Ruan as Head of Greater China area
 


Shanghai, Monday 29 January 2018 – International shipping carrier, Safmarine, announced effective from 1st Feb 2018, Cindy Ruan will take the role of the new Head of Safmarine in Greater China. Safmarine is a part of the A.P. Moller Maersk Group.
 
“I am very proud to accept the role of Head of Safmarine for the Greater China area. I look forward to working with Safmarine’s many talented employees in Greater China as well as our loyal customers, who entrust us with their continued success” said Ms Cindy Ruan.
 
Global Head of Safmarine, David Williams, said: “China is a vital market for Safmarine and I’m confident that with Cindy leading the team, we will continue growing and strengthening partnerships with our customers. Safmarine specializes in trade with emerging markets, those markets where local expertise and knowledge are essential to support our customers’ needs.”  
 
Mike Fang, Head of Maersk Line Greater China commented on:” The rest of the GCC Cluster Leadership Team and I are very pleased to welcome Cindy to the team. We believe she will lead GCC Safmarine to further develop the business performance, as well as further develop the ‘Living Orange’ spirit that characterizes the Safmarine brand.”
 
Ms Ruan joined A.P. Moller Maersk group as ‘MISE’ trainee in 2000. She spent 18 years with the company in various commercial roles. Most recently Ms Ruan has held the role of Head Customer Experience at Safmarine. Prior to this position, Ms Ruan has held roles in trade management and customer experience in China.
 
Ms Ruan will take over from Thomas Theeuwes , who is moving to Douala, Cameroon to take the position as the head of Maersk Line Southern West Africa.
