"Asia's longest" dock completed! xinde marine news Sarah Yu 2020-06-11 16:50

After 18 months of intensive construction, Waigaoqiao Shipyard completed the pre acceptance (June 10) and transferred to the new stage of delivery and use.

This means that this extended version of the dock will be the "first longest in Asia", and it can simultaneously meet the entire shipbuilding capacity of two large cruise ships of 130,000 dwt or one luxury cruise ship of 200,000 dwt, making Shanghai one of the few scientific and innovative cities in the world with the capacity to build the world's super cruise ships.

The project was invested by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding and constructed by CCCC Third Harbor Engineering.

With the successful completion of the No. 2 dock, China's first world-class domestic luxury cruise ship will be born here.

The No. 2 dock of Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding has the ability to build 200,000 dwt super cruise ships, which will be larger than the current 160,000-ton super cruise ships in the world, thus extending the cruise industry chain.
