Hu Jianhua inspects Mawan Smart Port xinde marine news 2020-04-09 10:00

On April 6, Group President Hu Jianhua inspected China Merchants Port's Mawan Smart Port to learn about the progress of the project and epidemic prevention and control. The inspection was accompanied by Group Chief Digital Officer Zhang Jian.

Hu Jianhua inspected Mawan Smart Port's construction site and project command centre as well as heard reports on its construction, equipment and smart elements. He pointed out that the epidemic prevention and control measures of the project were put in place, and the resumption of work and production appeared effective. Regarding the following construction and development of the project, Hu Jianhua put forward three requirements. First, to further understand the smart port. As one of the crucial carriers of China Merchants Group's innovation, Mawan Smart Port should further research, understand and continuously explore novel smart elements; Second, to further consolidate responsibilities. Strengthen contacts with cooperative partners at all levels to ensure that clients recognize the operation of the terminal during the trial period. The eight smart elements and characteristics of the port should be compared with traditional ports for discrepancy refining and quantifying, meanwhile, to involve more internal and external experts in the project to ensure industry leadership; Third, to further enhance the capabilities of the workforce. The project provides an excellent talent cultivation platform, with the support of which we should train a group of young and middle-aged cadres, create a batch of patents belonging to the Group and contribute to the Group's digital industrialization.
