On the afternoon of August 19, the strategic cooperation agreement signing ceremony between Shaanxi Provincial People’s Government and COSCO SHIPPING was held in Xi’an. Secretary of Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee Mr. Hu Heping, Executive Vice Governor of Shaanxi Province Mr. Liang Gui, Member and Secretary General of the Standing Committee of Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee Mr. Lu Jianjun, Vice Governor of Shaanxi Province Mr. Xu Datong, Chairman and Party Secretary of COSCO SHIPPING Capt. Xu Lirong, Deputy Party Secretary of COSCO SHIPPING Mr. Sun Jiakang, and Executive Vice President of COSCO SHIPPING Mr. Huang Xiaowen and Mr. Wang Haimin attended the signing ceremony. Prior to the event, Mr. Hu Heping met with the COSCO SHIPPING delegates. The two sides exchanged opinions on how to thoroughly implement the Belt and Road Initiative and accelerate the Belt and Road construction.
During the ceremony, Mr. Liang Gui and Mr. Wang Haimin signed the agreement on behalf of each side. Mr. Hu Heping, Mr. Lu Jianjun, Mr. Xu Datong, Capt. Xu Lirong, Mr. Sun Jiakang and Mr. Huang Xiaowen witnessed the occasion. According to the agreement, the two parties shall work hand in hand to leverage their own advantages to vigorously develop “hub economy”, “portal economy” and “flowability-driven economy” as proposed by the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and People’s Government, to jointly promote the construction of the Belt and Road land-sea multimodal transport corridor, and to facilitate the development of Shaanxi Province into a railway hub and international cargo distribution center in China’s central and western regions. Meanwhile, Shaanxi Province will also support COSCO SHIPPING in developing its “6+1” industrial clusters to become a world-class enterprise.
Mr. Han Jun, Assistant to the President of COSCO SHIPPING and Chairman and Party Secretary of COSCO SHIPPING Logistics, as well as heads of the relevant divisions of COSCO SHIPPING, were also present at the ceremony.
