1.On July 18th, YangShan International Seamen’s Club was unveiled at Yangshan Port. This is a 30-year-old seafarer service center that has once again “opened up” in Shanghai. It is also the only seafarer service “station” in Shanghai.
 
2.The Trade Union of COSCO SHIPPING Seafarer Management Co., Ltd. has worked with China Mobile and introduced the first “Seafarer JegoTrip Exclusive Discount Card (Seafarer Card)” customized for seafarers, which meets their personalized demands in daily lives, including international, navigation and domestic scenarios.
 
3.China has retained its lead as the country best connected to others by sea, according to the liner shipping connectivity index (LSCI) from United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
 
4.Containership charter owner Global Ship Lease has signed a new agreement with Hong Kong-based container shipping and logistics service company Orient Overseas Container Line Limited(OOCL). Commencing in late July, the 2,207 TEU vessel will be chartered for 50 to 90 days to OOCL at a fixed rate of USD 8,700 per day.
 
5.Construction has started of Shenghong Group’s liquid bulk cargo terminal project in Lianyungang, Jiangsu province, China.
 
6.China's exports and imports of goods both declined year on year in June, according to data from the General Administration of Customs, reported Caixin.
 
7.Ocean Network Express (ONE), Hapag-Lloyd, Cosco Shipping and Yang Ming Line are launching a new service covering South East India, the Mediterranean, and North Europe.
 
8.China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) has announced that three wholly-owned subsidiaries are going to set up a joint venture with Shanghai Shenzhen Heavy Industries (ZPMC) for port operation and investment.
