On July 11, 2019 Xinhua-Baltic International Shipping Center Development Index was released in Shanghai. Singapore, Hong Kong of China, London rank top three and Shanghai continue to rank fourth.
 
The Xinhua·Baltic International Shipping Center Development Index has been released for six consecutive years since 2014. The index reflects the comprehensive development level of international shipping center cities from three dimensions: port conditions, shipping services and comprehensive environment.
 
China's coastal cities have performed more prominently in the global shipping center evaluation system.In addition to Shanghai, the top 30 cities in terms of comprehensive strength are Ningbo Zhoushan (13), Guangzhou (16), Qingdao (17), Dalian (20), Shenzhen (22), Tianjin (24), Kaohsiung (25), Xiamen (30).
