1.Taking into account the difficulties found in conducting a safe and efficient ballast water exchange in the waters between China and South Korea, the maritime safety administration of China has issued a notice (Marine anti-pollution Decree [2019] No. 661), exempting such ships from conducting ballast water exchange in accordance with Ballast water management convention regulation B-4.1 and D-1.
 
2.China Railway Container Transport (CRCT), a provider of international and domestic railway container transportation services, has signed strategic cooperation agreement with SITC International Holdings at Beijing.
 
3.China Cosco Shipping has taken full control of LBC Shanghai Shipping Terminal through the acquisition of 70% equity interest of the company from its Belgian joint venture partner LBC Tanker Terminals.
 
4.Australia’s fast-expanding liquefied natural gas industry has this year been supplying the lion’s share of China’s growing demand for imports of the commodity, with appetite surging as Beijing shifts away from dirtier fuels such as coal.
 
5.The world’s biggest oil exporter seems willing for now to satisfy Chinese requests for extra crude as supplies are squeezed elsewhere.
 
6.Chinese soybean buyers are asking sellers in the United States to delay cargoes due to be shipped in July until August, two sources familiar with the matter said, raising fears of cancellations like ones that roiled the market last year.
 
7.Shandong Shipping is said to have finally committed to a series of newcastlemax newbuildings at Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry. However, an exec­utive at the Chinese shipowner said the deal has not been finalised.
 
8.On the afternoon of 14th June, a delegation led by Mr. Ahmed Aboutaleb, Mayor of Rotterdam, visited COSCO SHIPPING headquarters. Capt. Xu Lirong, Chairman of COSCO SHIPPING, met with the delegation and discussed about topics of common concern.
