1.China’s state-owned shipping giant Cocso Shipping is to work with Hainan province to jointly promote localised shipping and port asset optimisation and consolidation.
 
2.China Merchants Energy Shipping (CMES), the energy transport unit of China Merchants Group, has signed a agreement with Rongsheng Petrochemical to form a strategic partnership.
 
3.China’s container transport for export purposes edged up for the week ending Friday, according to the Shanghai Shipping Exchange.The average China Containerized Freight Index (CCFI) stood at 804.46, up 1.6 percent from a week earlier, the exchange said.
 
4.Cosco Shipping Specialized Carriers is setting up a European office in Rotterdam.The new office is a joint investment by Cosco Shipping Specialized Carriers and Cosco Shipping (Europe) and will be engaged in routes operation, market development, customers caring and on-site ship services.
 
5.The Port of Hong Kong clocked up its 16th consecutive month of declining box volumes in April.The Kwai Tsing terminals accounted for 1.215m teu, recording a 5.2% drop in box throughput, as midstream volumes increased by 6.5% to 340,000 teu, resulting in a 2.9% drop overall at the Port of Hong Kong.
 
6.The Chinese port of Guangzhou and Brazilian port of Acu signed an agreement Wednesday to establish a sister-port relationship.The agreement was signed at the 2019 World Ports Conference, which opened Wednesday in Guangzhou, capital of southern China's Guangdong Province.
