Agnes Wong Tin-yu, Hong Kong’s current Director-General of Communications is to take up the role of Director of Marine with effect from 14 May. The current incumbent, Maisie Cheng Mei-sze will move to the post of permanent secretary for the Environment/Director of Environmental Protection.
 
Ms Wong joined the administrative service in 1989.
 
Ms Cheng has served as Director of Marine since September 2015, having joined the administrative service in 1987.
 
Hong Kong Secretary for the Civil Service, Joshua Law, said, “The two appointees are seasoned Administrative Officers with proven leadership and management skills. I have every confidence that they will continue to serve the community with professionalism in their new capacities.”
