On 15 March, 2019, a delivery and naming ceremony for the 29th VLOC PACIFIC EXCELLENCE of CMES was held at the Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (SWS) Mr Yan Wushan, Vice President of CMES, delivered a speech and named the new vessel. Mr Chen Gang, General Manager of SWS, Mr Ding Lei, Vice President of CMES and General Manager of Hong Kong Ming Wah attended the ceremony and gave a speech.

 

As Mr Yan Wushan spoke, he pointed out that the PACIFIC EXCELLENCE is the fourth VLOC ordered by CMES in Waigaoqiao. It is both the final of the 10-VLOCs in the batch construction of CMES, and the second vessel model of national “Smart Ship 1.0”, which will infuse vigor into the development of China Merchants Shipping by retaining its status as the world’s largest VLCC and VLOC shipowners. The completion of the PACIFIC EXCELLENCE is another fruitful result of the extensive cooperation between CSSC and China Merchants Group. The achievement once again stands as a full proof to the strong R&D capability and exceptional shipbuilding quality of SWS.
