1.China's Xuelong safely completed its 35th Antarctic expedition mission on March 12 and has returned to Shanghai.
 
2.Norwegian car carrier operator UECC has signed shipbuilding contracts with CSSC-affiliated Jiangnan Shipyard for the construction of up to four 3,600 ceu pure car truck carriers (PCTCs).
 
3.Cosco Shipping Technology has introduced a new third party digital platform for domestic coastal bulk shipping.The platform, named Chuan Huo Yi, will mainly offer market data and cargo-to-ship matching services. The company also plans to add financial, procument as well as SaaS solutions at a later stage.
 
4.Saga LNG Shipping has named its new LNG carrier at China Merchants Heavy Industry (Jiangsu) shipyard on March 13, 2019.Named Saga Dawn, the 45,000 m3 vessel would be delivered to the company in May and enter into service shortly after.
 
5.China's iron ore futures ended higher on Tuesday.The most active contract for May 2019 delivery finished the day session up 1.91% to 612.5 yuan per ton. 
 
6.CIMC Raffles Offshore Ltd.and Aker Group signed a cooperation agreement on several business projects, and the two sides will conduct comprehensive cooperation in offshore oil and gas, marine fishery, modular products and other fields.
 
7.The offshore wind parks specialist Fred Olsen Windcarrier won its first major deal in the Asian market after being picked to install the 8MW Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) turbines at the Yunlin offshore wind farm off Taiwan.
 
8.China National Offshore Oil Corp, the nation's largest producer of offshore oil and gas, will focus on the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area for future oil and gas exploration, as it aims to step up the development and construction of China's first deep-water exploration well in the region which has natural gas reserves in excess of 100 billion cubic meters.
