Today(4th Sep) marks a major milestone for Chenxin Shipping Co., Ltd., as the company signed a shipbuilding contract with Yangzhou Wanlong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. covering 2+2 units of 1,900 TEU and 2+2 units of 4,350 TEU containerships. This step underscores Chenxin’s ambition to accelerate its fleet expansion and strengthen its presence in global trade lanes.
Founded in 2023, Chenxin Integrated Shipping is a fast-growing container carrier focusing on the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and Red Sea markets, operating primarily through slot agreements. In May this year, the company launched new services on the Red Sea–Turkey route, with Chinese hub calls at Tianjin, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Nansha, and Shekou.
The newbuilding program will significantly boost Chenxin’s capacity, enabling the company to optimize its service network and support its next phase of growth. Looking ahead, Chenxin plans to expand into North America, Southeast Asia, the Indian Subcontinent, North Africa, and East Africa, building a more efficient and connected global network.
On the shipyard side, Yangzhou Wanlong Shipbuilding, established in 2007 along the Yangtze River in Yizheng, Jiangsu, has extensive experience in bulk carriers, chemical tankers, and engineering vessels. With CCS, BV certifications and ISO9000 accreditation, the yard is well-positioned to deliver high-quality tonnage that supports Chenxin’s vision.
