Two significant developments in the VLAC (Very Large Ammonia Carrier) sector are signed both involving Chinese shipyards:
Jiangnan Shipyard & AW Shipping Collaboration:
On July 23, Jiangnan Shipyard, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, and China Shipbuilding Trading signed a contract with AW Shipping for the construction of a 2+2 93,000-cubic-meter VLAC project. This marks a significant milestone in the growing partnership between these leading companies.
Yangzijiang Shipbuilding &Nissen Kaiun's Major Order:
Japanese shipping giant Nissen Kaiun has placed an order for four new 88,000-cubic-meter VLACs with Yangzijiang Shipbuilding in Jiangsu. This order not only signifies Nissen Kaiun's expansion in the ammonia transport sector but also marks Yangzijiang Shipbuilding's entry into the VLGC/VLAC construction field.
