China's shipbuilding industry ranked first in the world in H1

Shipbuilding is known as the "crown of comprehensive industry", at present, China has formed three shipbuilding bases from the Bohai Rim, the Yangtze River estuary and then to the Pearl River estuary.

Since the beginning of this year, the international shipping market has recovered, especially the strong demand for container shipping has made the global newbuilding market extremely active. According to the latest data, in the first half of this year, CSSC received orders in batches, and the number of orders ranked first in the world.

Chen Jun, general manager of Hudong Zhonghua: "At present, it is the peak season for us to deliver ships. We delivered several large LNG ships around July, including ultra-large container ships. The ship itself is low-carbon and environment-friendly, and its sulfur and carbon emissions will be greatly reduced."

The design concept of "green, environmental protection, low carbon and safety" not only enables Chinese ships to meet the most stringent emission requirements, but also entrusts Chinese ships with strong market adaptability and good market prospects.

Data provided by China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry showed that in the first half of this year, China's shipbuilding completed 20.92 million dwt, up 19.0% year on year, high-end ship types increased significantly.

Zhou Xuhui, deputy general manager of Guangzhou Shipyard International, said: "Our order volume is the highest in the past decade. The main ship type is now on some new energy ships, such as dual-fuel ships and large container ships in urgent demand.

Statistics from CANSI show that in the first half of this year, the global volume of new shipbuilding transactions reached 74.97 million dwt, a year-on-year increase of 222%. Among them, China's new ship orders accounted for 51% of the global total, and the average monthly order volume reached 6.37 million dwt, 1.8 times the number of shipbuilding completed in the same period. This achievement also set a new high since the 2008 financial crisis.

At present, China has mastered the independent design technology of the three mainstream ship types, and formed a batch of standardized and serialized brand ship types. In the first half of this year, China’s shipbuilding’s three major indicators and international market share remained above 40%. Shipbuilding completed, new orders, and hand-held orders continued to rank first in the world in terms of deadweight.
