Shenzhen Port optimizes operation procedures to ensure stability of global supply chain

The southern Chinese metropolis of Shenzhen has rolled out measures to optimize the operation of Shenzhen Port to ensure the stability of global supply chains as its latest COVID-19 resurgence subsides.

“We've overcome the difficulties in labor shortage caused by the pandemic, and strengthened the intensity and frequency of sea patrol. We've taken measures including green channels, 24-hour response and approval service, and one website for both entry and exit procedures. We've optimized entry and exit procedures, reduced the waiting time of each link, and accelerated vessels' entry into and departure from the port.” said Yu Fei, Director of Command Center, Shenzhen Yantian Maritime Safety Administration.

"Today, we handled about five ships. Now they've completed all the formalities, while only using half of the usual time." said Zhang Liang, Field Shipping Supervisor, Shenzhen Yalian Lichengfu Port and Shipping Service Co., Ltd.

As a major city in the manufacturing powerhouse, Guangdong Province, Shenzhen plays a vital role in global supply chains.
