On November 13, China Merchants Energy Shipping (601872) announced that the company has signed 8 "Ship Building Agreements" with related party China Merchants Industry through its wholly-owned subsidiaries, ordering 2 82,000 dwt bulk carriers and 2 62,000 dwt multi-purpose ships; At the same time, the buyer's order option was exercised to order 4 methanol dual-fuel PCTCs; The total price of the above-mentioned eight shipbuilding agreements was US$508 million.
According to the announcement, the total price of the two 82,000 dwt dry bulk carriers and two 62,000 dwt multi-purpose ships ordered by CMES is approximately US$160 million, and the delivery period is from the second half of 2025 to the end of 2026. The total construction cost of the four 7,800 CEU methanol dual-fuel PCTCs is approximately US$348 million, and the delivery date is the third quarter of 2026.
The company's centralized ordering of PCTC this time will help support the domestic automobile export trend and expand the company's international ro-ro transportation business. This investment will help improve the core competitiveness and sustainable profitability of the company's ro-ro fleet.
