On August 28, China Merchants Energy Shipping released its semi-annual report. In the first half of the year, its operating income was 12.99 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 5.37%, and its net profit was 2.771 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 4.13%.
In terms of segments, China Merchants Energy Shipping's bulk cargo fleet achieved a revenue of 3.429 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 43.41%; The oil tanker fleet achieved a revenue of 5.117 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 109.46%; The ro-ro fleet achieved a revenue of 867 million yuan, an increase of 7.44% year-on-year; The container fleet achieved a revenue of 2.902 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 15.76%.
At the end of the reporting period, CMES had 219 self-owned ships with a deadweight of 37.7609 million dwt, with an average age of 8.7 years. There were also 40 orders with a deadweight of 3.1351 million dwt.
