Simpson Spence Young (SSY), the world’s largest independent shipbroker, has today announced the appointment of Jarl Magnus Berge to the role of Global Head of Finance, effective from 14th August 2023.
A finance specialist with over 14 years of experience, Berge has built a solid reputation in the industry with LS Finans AS and Northcape AS where he was one of the founding partners.
Berge will work alongside SSY’s existing finance team to further develop its global services to support all aspects of structuring, financing and execution of shipping and offshore projects.
Through their extensive global network of institutional investors, banks, specialised funds, family offices and leasing houses, SSY’s finance desks in London, Oslo and New York provide bespoke, unbiased and impartial advice, as well as arranging structuring and execution services for all aspects of ship finance, shipping investments, mergers and acquisitions, divestments and restructurings.
