On March 30, the Shanghai Marine Diesel Engine Research Institute (SMDERI) and Shandong Huachen Financial Leasing Corporation Limited, a subsidiary of Shandong Marine Group signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement in Shanghai. At the same time, China's first Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) technology equipment was launched in shipbuilding field.
It is understood that the CCUS device will be installed on a newly built bulk carrier.
The project obtained a "green" bulk carrier equipped with CCUS type approval by China Classification Society.
The two sides will jointly support China's green shipping transformation.
