Tamping the Foundation of Container IoT Industries: BoxPlus Implements COA UDM_PLUS API Standards

After more one year of practice and enhancement, BoxPlus now is announcing that the COA UDM_PLUSAPI standards launched at the end of year 2022 is successful, workable and productive to serve the customers by establishing a data bridge between BoxPlus IBOXdevices and the end users' system. BoxPlus also now is officially announcing will implement this COA UDM_PLUS API standardsto serve IBOX customers and partners. This announced standard is basing onthe Container Owners Association Unified Data Model (COA UDM),which was public in June of 2021 and BoxPlus participated the project as one of the working group members from year 2020 to year 2021.

The Container Owners Association(COA) was established in November 2004 as an international organization representing the common interests of all owners of freight containers. The principle aims of the COA are to provide global expertise, to promote common standards and to facilitate international lobbying. In June 2021, COA published the "COA UDM FOR REEFER CONTAINER DATA EXCHANGE FORMATS"(COA UDM) developed by the COA's Reefer Telematics Working Group. The purpose of this Data Model is to enable the exchange of information on refrigerated containers in a uniform way, independent of the model and manufacturer. Its key objective is to remove barriers to interoperability within the industry and make it easier for data consumers to build value-added services for their container operations. The COA UDM can be seen as an important milestone in the digitalization and standardization of the container industry.

Mr. Patrick Hicks, the secretary of Container Owner Association said, 'It's great that BoxPlus announces such standard. As the member of COA, BoxPlus is very positive to participate the construction of industry standards. BoxPlus has been actively involved in the construction and formulation of COA UDM standards from 2020 to 2021 which is valued by COA. This COA UDM _ PLUS API standard announced by BoxPlus is coming from the practice. We think it is very productive and creative, and will accelerate the process of the industry standardization.'

The announcedCOA UDM_PLUS API standard has adopted 100% of COA UDM and been optimized by BoxPlus basing on the practice with the customers. With this API, the extra data collected by IBOX,including containerlocation, sensor of acceleration and door events etc., is enabled to serve the customers together with the data interacted from the refrigeration. All of them has been proved very supportive for the end users to manage the global reefer supply chain and worthy to explore more commercial value. And also the harmonization of adopting and optimizing COA UDM by BoxPlus is a good approach to keep the compliance of standards and minimizing the technical complexity when extending the data scope of the telematic devices along with the development of either business or new technology or both of them. To protect the customer privacy and data security, BoxPlus' COA UDM_PLUS API standard also has been proved successful on protecting the customer privacy and service quality,  the datasecurity, timeliness and accuracy is guaranteed by setting up the whitelist for IP address, multiple interface authorization verification and automatic notification upon any exception occur .
