Shipping return to normality, Wan Hai Lines put 10 container ships up for demolition Sale



On December 8, Wan Hai Lines announced for putting 10 container ships up for demolition Sale. The ten ships can no longer be put into operation, and the buyers need to dismantle them directly in shipyard.
 
More than 20% ships of Wan Hai Lines' fleet is older than 20 years. It already has a plan to replace old vessels. It has ordered 24 3,000TEU vessels from Japanese shipyards and purchased four this year.
 
In the past two years, the COVID 19 caused severe port blockage in the world and a serious shortage of ships in the market. Wan Hai Lines had to postpone the replacement of old ships. With the recent slowing down of the epidemic, shipping operations have gradually returned to normal, and now the recovery plan has begun.
 
According to statistics, Wan Hai Lines built 12 new energy-saving ships in 2022, of which 8 have been delivered so far. There will be 4 new ships to be delivered before the end of the year, three 3,013TEU and one 13,100 TEU. Plus 8 second-hand ships, a total of 20 ships will be delivered throughout the year. As for a total of 20 new energy-saving ships to be built in 2023, of which 10 3000TEU and 10 13,000 TEU, plus four 3000TEU ships to be purchased, a total of 24 ships will be delivered.
