CMES changed RO-RO ship's operations to accelerate car export

On October 23, China Merchants Energy Shipping (CMES) issued an announcement, in order to ensure the safety of China's automobile export supply chain, alleviate the shortage of domestic automobile transportation capacity, China Merchants Energy Shipping will carry out international RO-RO ship cooperation business model, part of the RO-RO ship domestic trade into foreign trade to accelerate automobile export.
 
Recently, CMES has reformed some ships to meet the requirements of ocean going transportation. Among them, the 5,000 CEU "Chang Tai Hong" has completed the relevant transformation and obtained the international route inspection certificate issued by CCS.
 
CMES transformed some existing RO-RO ships suitable for ocean going transportation and signed long-term cooperation agreements with a number of international and domestic main engine companies. After the relevant ships have completed the transformation and had the operation qualification, they will be successively put into foreign trade roll-on roll-off service.
 
CMES also plans to further increase the investment in foreign trade RO-RO capacity by means of buying, building and renting. And cooperate with the multi-purpose/flexible fleet of its subsidiary Hong Kong Ming Wah Shipping and the container fleet of SINOTRANS to carry out automobile export transportation business.
